ANGIE MAREI

New York-born and raised Egyptian-Dominican designer Angie Marei creates powerful, evocative fine jewelry that celebrates love, spiritual rebirth, and the inner strength it takes to rise and emerge—like a phoenix. Deeply rooted in spirituality, her work is guided by intuition and a reverence for the divine. Each piece is a modern heirloom, crafted to empower the wearer and honor life’s most meaningful moments—from passionate unions to profound personal transformations.

A former advertising creative director, Angie built her career shaping campaigns for iconic luxury brands including Tom Ford, Gucci, and Yves Saint Laurent. Longing to create something more personal and lasting, she answered a deeper calling—formally studying jewelry design and metalsmithing before launching her own fine jewelry brand.

Founded and independently owned by Angie, Marei New York is rooted in bold femininity, timeless artistry, and spiritual intention. Her collections draw from a rich fusion of her Egyptian-Dominican heritage, the raw energy of New York City, and her love of mythology, sacred symbolism, fine art, architecture, and noir cinema. Inspired by a childhood surrounded by gold heirlooms and ancestral rituals, Angie designs with an eye for mysticism and sculptural elegance.

In addition to her work in jewelry, Angie illustrated the cover art for My Dear Wildflower by best-selling Black American poet and author R.H. Sin—an extension of her deep creative expression across mediums.

Her work and story have been featured in the books 100 Women of Jewelry by By Linda Kozloff-Turner and There's Treasure Inside book by Jon Collins-Black where she created a pair of bespoke ruby earrings that were included as part of a real-life treasure hunt—symbolizing the magic, mystery, and wonder at the heart of her creations.

Marei was selected as one of 21 Black jewelry designers to participate in Sotheby’s Brilliant & Black: A Jewelry Renaissance—a historic, first-of-its-kind exhibition celebrating the creativity and craftsmanship of Black artists featured in Forbes Magazine. Marei was also named a finalist in the prestigious inaugural Tiffany & Co. x CFDA Jewelry Designer Award, a first-of-its-kind opportunity for American jewelry designers.
